A child is dead after lights headed out Tuesday night at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Tema General Hospital.
According to reports, one infant was lost due to the ‘dumsor’, which occurred for about 4 hours in between 8pm Tuesday and midnight Wednesday.
On Tuesday night, a troubled mom at the NICU shared a video revealing the system struck by dumsor.
Her video revealed children resting in their incubators without oxygen to breathe due to the power blackout getting essential devices.
The mom called out the management of the Hospital for being not able to protect a generator set to power the NICU throughout the duration of the light out.
Whilst the lights followed some hours, unfortunate news came out Wednesday that a person infant had actually passed away due to the power blackout.
