Ayodhya gears up for grand Holi celebrations post-Ram Mandir consecration

Story highlights

India’s Ayodhya city, the abode of Lord Ram, is set to witness a grand celebration of Holi.

Ayodhya, the birth place of Lord Ram, is gearing up for an extravagant Holi celebration this year. According to the chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, who spoke to ANI, the festival of colours will be commemorated in a grand fashion as a tribute to the deity.

“This year, Holi is being celebrated in a grand manner in reverence to Lord Ram. Just as Lord Ram took form in Ayodhya, this year, after the pran pratishtha ceremony, the way devotees flocked here for his darshan, creating a wonderful atmosphere, is truly remarkable,” Das told ANI.

“Just as the divine play of Lord Ram’s devotees unfolded after his pran pratishtha, similarly, this year’s Holi will be wonderful in its own way,” the Ram temple chief priest added.

Das mentioned that they will apply gulal (coloured powder) and offer items such as kachori, gujiya, puri, kheer (pudding), and other delicacies to Lord Ram, with prasad being distributed afterward.

Highlighting the extraordinary fervor, Das credited it to the pran pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram.

“This enthusiasm is unprecedented for the very first time, all because of the pran pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram,” he said.

Previously, a large number of devotees visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to celebrate the festival of colours. “The joyful Lord and his devotees celebrate the first Holikotsav since Lord Shri Ram Lala was installed in the grand temple,” Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra posted on X.
