EZI Unmasks the Illusion of Control on New Single “Play God”

Alternative-pop LGBTQ+ tape-recording artist and songwriter EZI reveals her brand-new single, “Play God,” a track from her upcoming launching album, Into Your Power, Into The LightLet it be understood immediately that “Play God” is uncannily expressive.

EZI shares, “‘Play God’ belongs to the Power side of my album ‘Into Your Power, Into The Light.’ I composed ‘Play God’ 4 years ago about somebody I was seeing at the time who I might inform got a high from being a puppeteer. It made me think of the sensation of control and power and what those things truly indicate in regard to the human experience. How when you aim to have control it typically originates from a worry of the unidentified. Not having power and control is exceptionally susceptible, it needs you to be raw and open in a manner that can feel scary. I composed ‘Play God’ about individuals (including myself) who go to completions of the earth to keep a sense of power over yourself and your life. And later on discovered that on the other side of that is an ego death and a sense of credibility that I wasn’t all set for at the time of composing the tune.”

Initially from Long Island, Esther Zyskind, aka EZI, began as a starlet, starring in Nickelodeon’s series The Other KingdomLater on, after suddenly fulfilling Steve Madden at one of his Manhattan shops, she signed with 5Towns Records. To differentiate her acting profession from her music profession, she took the name EZI.

In 2018, EZI debuted her EP, SCARED OF THE DARKgathering more than 25 million streams. Her 2022 cover of “Take My Breath Away” went viral, collecting over 18 million streams, together with being the # 1 utilized tune on Instagram draws in the U.S.
