According to a market source, BOE will likely be providing the bulk, if not all, of the 6.1-inch OLED panels for the upcoming iPhone SE 4. Apparently, Samsung left of the race due to the low rates Apple was providing for each panel.
The report declares that a single 6.1-inch OLED system costs around $30 at Samsung, while Apple was using $25. The very same source recommends the rate is lower than even what the Chinese makers are asking.
With Samsung out of the photo, BOE and Tianma stay, with BOE most likely taking all of the orders for the iPhone SE 4.
Individuals acquainted with the matter state that Samsung wasn’t all that purchased the offer to start with due to low margins, so as soon as Apple requested for an even lower rate per system, Samsung simply ended the settlements.
