Welcome to another smashing week of smart purchasing decisions on the games worth owning. Today is very much all about the first discount I’ve seen for the venerable Meta Quest 3 512GB. Speaking personally, 70 bucks off and free shipping (via a disposable “First” membership) were enough to tip me into a purchase. In retro news, I’m celebrating the 19th birthday of the needlessly verbose Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict. A solo/multi and 1st/3rd-person hybrid, UC2 was an important series milestone that added melee combat, fatality moves, and a character class system of Light, Medium, or Heavy. My overriding memory of it was the Great Scott moment of unlocking a playable Raiden from Mortal Kombat and then using him as the conduit to dispense 1.21 gigawatts of pain at my mates.

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
SteamWorld Quest is far more of an RPG than it is a card game, but its deck-building twists offer an insane amount of gameplay choice. Its simplified deckbuilding makes Quest an RPG that’s as accessible as it is flexible. 8.6/10, great.

Well, this is the first notable discount on this, so I took the plunge on a purchase. If you’re debating the same, I can confirm (from previous heads ons) that the MQ3 offers quite the experience. Especially via that exclusive Assassin’s Creed game.
